Vacation Bible School (VBS)

Vacation Bible School is one of the most joyful weeks of our year, as our building fills with children's laughter, Bible songs, and the sound of little voices learning big truths about God. At First Baptist Church of Urbana, VBS is a free, community-wide invitation for kids to experience God's love in a safe, fun, and gospel-centered setting.

Our week-long VBS Program brings children together each day for a mix of large-group worship and small-group learning. From the moment they arrive, friendly volunteers welcome them by name, help them find their group, and walk with them through each activity.

Crafts and Activities give kids the chance to create hands-on reminders of each day's Bible lesson. Using glue, paint, paper, and simple supplies, children make projects they are excited to take home and share with their families.

Music and Singing are a highlight of every VBS day. Children learn lively, Scripture-rich songs with motions that make it easy to remember the words and the truths they teach about God's power, love, and salvation.

Bible Lessons are taught clearly and simply at each age level, helping children understand who Jesus is, why He came, and how they can trust Him. We present the gospel gently and faithfully, always respecting parents while inviting kids to respond to God's Word.

Outdoor Games provide a safe space to run, laugh, and work together as teams. Supervised by caring adults and youth helpers, these games build friendships and keep energy high, making VBS a week children look forward to all year long.
