Community & Fellowship

Community and fellowship are at the core of our life together as a church family. At First Baptist Church of Urbana, we believe God calls us not only to worship Him, but also to love one another well and to serve the town and county He has placed us in.

Our church events and gatherings range from special worship services to seasonal celebrations and family-focused activities. These times give us space to slow down from busy schedules, visit with one another, and welcome neighbors who may be looking for a church home or simply a friendly place to connect.

Volunteer opportunities let members put their faith into action. From helping with children's ministries and Vacation Bible School to assisting with building needs, music, or hospitality, there is a place for every person to serve according to their gifts and abilities. Serving side by side often leads to deep, lasting friendships.

We also engage in community outreach activities, partnering with local efforts when possible and offering our church facilities as an asset to those around us. Whether we are hosting events, supporting missions, or reaching out to those in need, our desire is to "make the invisible God visible" through practical love.

Fellowship meals and midweek gatherings create some of our sweetest memories. Sharing a home-cooked meal around a table, praying for one another, and talking about what God is doing in our lives helps turn a congregation into a true church family. In all these ways, community and fellowship become a living testimony of Christ's love to both our members and our neighbors.
