Sunday School & Bible Study

Sunday School and Bible study are where we slow down, open God's Word together, and help one another grow in Christ. At First Baptist Church of Urbana, these groups give every person - from children to seniors - a place to belong, to ask questions, and to build friendships that last.

Our Adult Bible Study classes walk verse by verse through Scripture, connecting biblical truth to real-life decisions, family challenges, and everyday work. You do not have to be a Bible expert; we learn together, share insights, and encourage one another to live out what we read.

Children's Sunday School offers age-appropriate lessons, Bible stories, and activities that help boys and girls understand God's love and develop a strong foundation of faith. Youth Sunday School gives teens space to talk honestly about what they face at school, on social media, and at home, while seeing how the Bible speaks clearly into their world.

We also provide Men's Bible Study and Women's Bible Study opportunities, where men and women can meet in smaller groups for focused study and heartfelt conversation. These times build strong, Christ-centered friendships and offer a place to pray for one another's specific needs.

Our Prayer Group brings believers together to seek the Lord on behalf of our families, church, community, and nation. We share requests, read Scripture, and spend time in united prayer, trusting God to work in ways we cannot.

Across every age and season of life, Sunday School and Bible study help us move from simply attending church to truly walking with God and walking with one another in everyday, practical discipleship.
