Children’s Programs

We believe children are a precious gift from the Lord, and our children's programs are designed to help them know Jesus in a safe, loving, and age-appropriate way. At First Baptist Church of Urbana, parents can worship and study with peace of mind, knowing their kids are cared for and learning God's truth.

Our Nursery Care provides a clean, welcoming space for infants and toddlers during Sunday services and key gatherings. Caring volunteers hold, rock, and play with little ones while speaking gentle words of Scripture and songs about Jesus. Safety and security are a priority, so parents can relax and focus on worship.

As children grow, our Children's Church programs and Sunday School classes use Bible stories, memory verses, crafts, and simple activities to help them understand who God is and how much He loves them. We keep lessons interactive and engaging so that children look forward to coming each week and begin building their own relationship with the Lord.

Wednesday children's activities give kids a midweek time to reconnect with friends, open their Bibles, and enjoy games and projects that reinforce what they are learning on Sundays. These evenings are especially helpful for families who want consistent, Christ-centered rhythms in their weekly schedule.

In every setting, our goal is to partner with parents, not replace them - to come alongside you as you lead your children in faith. From the nursery through the elementary years, we want each child to feel known by name, loved by their church family, and invited to trust in Jesus as Savior and Lord.
